I Will Build My Church…Online

I’m not talking about online community groups as churches, which you may be forgiven to expect from the title. I’m talking about a site, Church Outlet, where you buy everything you need to build your church building online. Ok, so churches aren’t buildings, but let’s go with it!

Changing Rooms

So I’ve had a bit of a make-over. Well not me, but my blog! I’ve changed my theme and gone for a slightly revamped header. You may be asking why. Well, three reasons. One is that I wanted to distinguish myself aesthetically from The proGnosis and Saint Beagle (And I would like to take this opportunity to point out that Saint Beagle copied me not the other way round, though I don’t mind, I take it as a compliment!). Two is that since starting Saint Jonny I’ve wanted to change my banner into a more icon-esque saint’s painting. The first image (which you’ll still find on Saint Beagle) was just a quick attempt, so I took the time to do a better job of it. Three, I’ve started another blog and wanted to tie these two blogs together. What’s that? Another blog? Why would I do that?

I Can’t Make Tents, So What Else Can I Do?

If you’re out planting churches, then you’re going to have to get your support from somewhere other than the church you’re planting, at least in its initial stages. So unless you’ve got a church or other supporters supporting you then you’re going to have to do as Paul did and have a job. Paul’s job was making tents (or doing leather-work of some kind). If, in nine months time, I find myself in a position where I am starting to plant a church and I haven’t got enough support for me to not work, what can I do?

How to Keep Track of All the Blogs you Read on One Page

I know RSS feeds and things like that have been out for ages, but I’ve never quite cottoned on. So the other day I looked into it and added the Google Reader to my Google account. Now it tells me all the latest blog posts of all the blogs I read in one place. And since I’ve got a GMail (Google Mail before they had to change it) account it works well having email and blogs and all that in one place on my own customised Google page! Google really are taking over the internet. Other readers are available.

Urban Plant Life

As well as having a cool logo, the Urban Plant Life conference have a cool speaker (at least so I’m told), Tim Keller. The conference is on Tuesday, 18 November 2008 from 9:30am to 4:30pm. In their own words here are the aims of the conference:

Step Four: Next on the Gender

Well, my Hebrew re-sit happened last Tuesday (2nd September, which was a week later than originally planned because the other person re-sitting couldn’t make the week before) and you’ll be happy to hear, or well, at least, I’m happy to write that I passed! They rushed the marking through and told me within three days of taking it. So does that mean no more Hebrew posts. Well, I thought that rather than the module being a complete waste, I’d like to keep it going, at least on a basic level. So for today’s lesson children, we’re going to learn about different genders and pluralities in nouns and adjectives!

NEW LOOK: I've changed the main header for the blog and have stuck a few images for headers on the pages to give the blog a new feel. (7.9.9)
