Holidays

holidayI haven’t posted in a few days because I went back to my parents’ house for a while for my sisters wedding. Well, now that I’m back, I’m off again! I’m taking three surfboards, a mini-campervan and my pregnant wife down to Cornwall for a couple of weeks, right before coming back to preach on Ecclesiastes 3:16-5:7. (I had a trial run at the church my parents are at last Sunday so that’s fine!) So no blog posts for a little while and it also means you’ll miss out on a ‘Saint’s Story’ for August because I haven’t got one written yet, sorry! But I’m not going to worry about it!

What’s the Point in Life?

Stand by Me – The Splendour of the King

There’s a musician in Ammanford Churchwho plays the bass line of Space Cowboy to the Christian song Lord I Lift Your Name on High. It works absolutely brilliantly. I think I’ve figured out something of similar brilliance. As you may have guessed from the title, it’s the bass line of Stand by Me to the Christian song The Splendour of the King. Now, I’m only a learner bassist and can’t play that bass line all that confidently, so I may be wrong, but I think it could actually work. What do you think?

Videos with PB

I’ve begun posting some video interviews on The proGnosis I conducted with Peter Baker back in February. Peter is one of the ministers of Highfields Church in Cardiff. One video will be going up every day this week (including the weekend) so look out for them. I apologise for any jitters in the sound—if anyone would like to buy me a new computer it’d solve that problem!

Here’s one video that won’t be going up on The proGnosis. Peter’s answer to this question was the one that stuck most in my memory. I asked Peter, How have you changed theologically through your years in ministry?
