Revision #1

I’m approaching exam period (2 weeks, covering 5 subjects, starting 5th May) so I’ll be posting some of my revision notes up here which will anticipate certain subjects and even questions coming up.

ESCHATOLOGY #1: What is the relationship between the parousia, the general resurrection and the final judgement?

parousia is a Greek word which means a coming, arrival or presence. In secular usage it is used to refer to the arrival of an emperor or distinguished person. Theologically, it is the definitive, decisive and openly evident coming of Jesus. Other Greek terms used for this event are epiphaneia, which means an appearing or manifestation, and apokalupsis which is used for revelation.
